With reference to your letter (10338) of the 5th

instant brasmitting a copy of the Annual Return of the

Tavel and Military Resources of Hong Kong for the pear

ending. Duces her 31st 1899;

I an directed by the Secretary of State for War to

invite your attention to wie incomplete manner in which,

this return has been drawn up.

On referring to Form (A),Return of Shell-Arris, Ul

vill observe that none are shown as in charge of troops ard

wat no side-ams are shown at all.

In the same Form the Return of smail-um ammunition

does not show any as in charge of troops,ror ang puthorized

Peserve.

The Return of Berruck Accommodation is left entirely

blank, as is also the one of Trasport Attimals and Velicles.

In Form (1) no arbiliery anumition is shown vid, the
